While wrapping up the last few chapters of Ghosts of Antiquity, I came up with a fitting theme for the story. So enjoy…

So why did I choose this song in particular as the theme for Ghosts of Antiquity? Well, Sigur Rós is a post-rock Icelandic band that I’ve fallen in love with some years ago. The blend of beauty and occasional harshness is just, apologies for using a redundant word, beautiful. It really calms me down and I seem to listen to them nearly every day. Due to the nature of the lyrics used by Sigur Rós, some of which are actually a language that they “made up” called Vonlenska, I sometimes imagine a story of a schizophrenic person in my head; especially when listening to the album ( ) partly due to the fact that the vocals on that album are entirely comprised of this fictitious language. Along with this notion, it seemed fitting to use a non-English song to symbolize Virtus’ impending multiple personality disorder; it somewhat alienates the listener (Unless you happen to know Icelandic) just like how Virtus is in some way being alienated from himself. I chose the song Ný batterí because the lyrics seemed quite fitting to convey the story in a different way. ~~And I swear it describes my life up through high school.~~
